Happy Customer

Its always nice to hear from a happy customer. Someone who bought two pieces from my DC Metro set just emailed me pictures where she has them on display in her home! The DC Metro is one of my favorite sets and I will be making metal and acrylic pieces of the set for my show in November at Sip This in Valley Stream, NY.

Receiving this email made my day! Its always nice to have my photography appreciated and on display. Thank you, Cheryl!!!

Yahoo! Flickr Redesign Launch Party

On May 20th Yahoo! held an event to announce the launch the design of flickr and I was invited to attend the event as a participating photographer. My work was one of many displayed at the event. I think there were over 35,000 photos used for the event, and I definitely made my contribution!

Picture below is one of the displays. Not any of my work but still a cool display nonetheless. I also got a chance to meet Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo!

Central Park- where I took the shot

One of the commonly asked questions I get asked is where I was standing when I took my Central Park HDR photos, and even though the title gives it away, someone will always ask me what street in Manhattan was 59th Street taken on.

59th Street is…well…59th Street. Yes, I have been told that I am not very creative when it comes to naming things.... From Columbus Circle the only direction you can look on 59th St is east.

I took the photos from a temporary platform that was erected around the statue of Columbus in Columbus Circle. The platform was a temporary public art exhibit called Discovering Columbus. After the exhibit was done they began work on the restoration of the statue.

Below is a slideshow from my visit. I am standing on the top looking east down on 59th Street. Where the center building stands is 5th Ave which is right next to the Apple Store and FAO Schwarz.

Now that the warm weather is coming you can look for me in Union Sq sometime soon. I will be wearing a shirt that says, "got pearce?" Do you got some of Jeff Pearce's photography?
