These photos were taken from a temporary platform that was erected around the statue of Christopher Columbus in Columbus Circle, NYC so these are from a rare perspective.
Back story
My photography sets are usually from one my expeditions, and I went to check out the Discovering Columbus Exhibit in Columbus Circle. “Discovering Columbus” was a public art display where a modern day apartment was erected around the statue prior to the restoration work on the statue began. I took my mother along to check out the exhibit but they kicked out her after being there 5 minutes. She came up in the elevator and since it was going back down they said she had to go. That just killed my interest in the exhibit so when I exited I took the stairs. When I stepped outside I had this gorgeous scene just staring at me in the face! The sky was so blue and the trees were so green. The city outshined the public art display that we just went to see.
New York, like so many places, is a work of art on its own, and sometimes you just need to stop and see the beauty in the everyday occurrences.
